The Lodge of St Matthew No. 539 was consecrated 16 April 1847 and is affiliated to the Province of Staffordshire under the United Grand Lodge of England.

The Lodge of St Matthew is one of the oldest Freemasons lodges in Staffordshire and the West Midlands that was originally consecrated in Walsall in 1847 and now meets in Aldridge eight times a year normally on the first Thursday of the month from October through to May. We are an active lodge that has a healthy intake of new members who are actively encouraged and supported by its many experienced brethren.

At St Matthew’s we regularly hold social events, such as a Ladies’ Evenings, Lunches, themed Nights and visits to other lodges.  Please look at our News and Events pages for the very latest information.

If you are interested in becoming, or are already a Freemason, please feel free to explore our site. This website aims to provide information and a contact point for those interested in becoming a member of our lodge, and also to act as an online notice board for current members.

We meet at the Aldridge Compass Suites, The Green, Aldridge, Walsall, WS9 8NH on the First Thursday of each month from October to May

Please browse the site and feel free to contact the Secretary with any further questions you may have by emailing him at
